Wading shoes: freedom, comfort and grip for fishing

Wading shoes are essential for lure and fly fishermen in freshwater as well as along the sea shore who want to move safely on slippery substrates. They are used with waders fitted with "booties". Thanks to their non-slip sole and reinforced support, they offer excellent stability when moving in rivers, lakes or along the sea shore. Their robust construction withstands impacts, abrasion and the difficult conditions encountered on fishing spots.

What type of wading shoe soles should you choose?

Comfortable, featuring different sole materials and quick to dry, wading shoes ensure perfect freedom of movement for extended sessions. Whether fishing for trout, pike or sea bass, they guarantee reliable footing on pebbles, rocks or sandy bottoms, provided you choose your wading shoes carefully.

Rubber soles

Rubber or gum soles provide good overall grip on the riverbed. The softer the sole, the more grip it will offer, but the faster it will wear out.

Felt soles

These are the most grippy soles, particularly on smooth rocks with algae. However, felt is not recommended for long walks on trails or rocky terrain where it will wear out very quickly. 

Studs and plates

Aluminium studs, nails or inserts increase the grip of wading shoes. Walking on hard ground with studs is not very comfortable.

Usage tips from our passionate team

Wading shoes must be dried after each use. If you use them in the sea or in mud, they should be thoroughly rinsed before drying.
